The Boston Tea Party Museum
Third graders visited the Boston Tea Party Museum on May 14, 2015. We committed treason and threw tea overboard. Huzzah!
Star Lab Visit
On May 12, 2015, the Star Lab Planetarium came to South School for third graders. We had the opportunity to see a recreation of the night's sky, hear the stories behind some constellations, and practice finding constellations on our own during the four seasons. Thank you, Springfield Science Museum!
Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum
On March 6th third graders visited the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum. We couldn't pose for pictures inside, but you can probably tell how much fun we had from this glimpse of our bus ride!
Engineering is Elementary!
On March 4th Mrs. Roberts visited our classroom and trained us to be engineers. We started with a problem, made a plan, started building, and altered our plans as we worked.

Harvard Museum of Natural History
On December 12, 2014, third graders visited the Harvard Museum of Natural History and watched a special presentation about rocks and minerals. They also had the opportunity to explore the Museum's many animals and artifacts.
Third Grade Powwow
The third graders worked so hard on their artwork, costumes, and speaking parts to make this year's Powwow a success. We hope families and friends enjoyed the show on November 25th.
Plimoth Plantation Field Trip
On Friday, October 10th, third graders visited Plimoth Plantation to learn more about the complex relationship between the Wampanoags and the English colonists.
Native American Perspective
On Thursday, October 2nd, third graders had the opportunity to build a teepee with Cathy and Dan from Native American Perspectives. We also learned about the culture of many tribes native to North America. Ask your child which tribe he or she was assigned!
